Wil Zenigma

"Trauma programs identity, and stigma delays healing."

About Me

My name is Wil Zenigma. I am a keynote speaker, recovery coach, LGBTQ+ advocate, and the founder of the T.A.R.S. Movement, a platform that helps individuals and organizations move from trauma‑ and stigma‑programmed identity to self‑defined identity, recovery, and purpose. My work is rooted in a core truth: trauma programs identity, and stigma delays healing.

Unhealed trauma often leads to shame, mental health struggles, addiction, and destructive behavior — but recovery is not just about stopping a behavior; it's about healing the wound beneath it. We are not our programming, but we cannot heal what we cannot see, change what we cannot name, choose what we have not claimed, or embody what we have not practiced. Once we become aware, we gain the power to rewrite the script, live the identity we choose, and share the transformation that becomes a movement.

My Story

My story is one of a survivor — and ultimately, transformation. I experienced trauma early in life and didn't have the tools to understand it. I adapted. Those adaptations helped me survive, but over time they became addiction. I began using substances regularly at sixteen, starting with alcohol and weed, eventually becoming an IV meth user and using nearly anything I could access, including heroin.

My identity became wrapped in shame, labels, and stigma. I believed I was the problem. My mental health struggles began long before addiction — including my first suicide attempt at age seven — and the pain I carried shaped how I saw myself and how I survived.

Recovery changed everything. It wasn't just about stopping behavior; it was about understanding why I became who I was. That awareness allowed me to separate my identity from my experiences, recognize my programming, and rebuild with intention. I have now been clean and sober for 5.5 years, and everything I teach is built from what I had to learn to save my own life.

"Addiction is rarely the problem — it is the solution people found for pain they never learned how to process."

Community Focus

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals navigating trauma, identity, addiction, and recovery — while welcoming anyone ready to create the life they deserve.

What I Do

I help individuals and organizations understand their programming, break stigma‑based identity patterns, and rebuild a self‑defined life through structured, trauma‑informed identity transformation.

In simple terms: I guide people from survivor mode to self‑determined identity.

Why I Built the T.A.R.S. Platform

Traditional recovery models didn't work for me. Each one had pieces that made sense, but none addressed the full picture — and some made things harder. There were spiritual paths, scientific paths, mental health paths, and life‑philosophy paths, but nothing that combined them into a simple, human‑centered system.

I needed something that focused on the root, the language, and a way to change or quiet the messages that were shaping my identity. When I couldn't find it, I built it.

"I am not teaching theory — I am teaching the system I had to build to survive, heal, and rebuild my identity when nothing else worked." Human. Practical. Identity‑focused. Trauma‑informed. Grounded in lived experience, not tradition.

The T.A.R.S. Platform

The T.A.R.S. Platform is a structured identity‑transformation system built from lived experience. It guides people through:

Understanding their programming (SCAN / STIGMA)
Rewriting their internal script (CODE)
Practicing new identity patterns in real life (REWRITTEN)
Expanding their transformation into community (MOVEMENT)

My Mission

Whether I'm speaking on stage, coaching one‑on‑one, or guiding groups through the T.A.R.S. Platform, my mission is always the same: to help people understand their programming, reclaim their identity, and live REWRITTEN.

Break STIGMA.
Script new CODE.
Live REWRITTEN.
